The term 'Business Development' can encompass a variety of different skills and categories of work, but they all have one thing in common: they are strategies for improving the financial sustainability of a business. See below various ways in which I have been involved in Business Development for several companies. 

Project

​Management

Includes use of project management software Visma Severa. Also served as project manager for Whim Nightclub when I worked for Diana Rua Media in Pittsburgh, PA. This included promotion and organization of VIP parties, fashion shows, and other events. Have also served as project manager on several funding applications at Njorth Bio_.

Customer

Relationship Mgmt

From a software standpoint, includes use of the customer relationship management features of Visma Severa. From a practical standpoint, was also a huge part of working in B2B sales at CBS Radio in Pittsburgh, PA. Building solid relationships based on familiarity and trust and staying at top-of-mind awareness is crucial in B2B sales.

Sales &

​Negotiation

In my 13 year career, I have had 3 positions in which I have worked exclusively as a salesperson. I was at CBS Radio for 3 years as an Account Executive which was a sales position based 100% on commission. Negotiation was important in making my clients feel that they were getting added value while still maintaining the financial integrity of our products. I was also a salesperson for Clarins Cosmetics at Macy's and for Bath and Body Works, where I used extensive product knowledge to match products with customer needs. 

Market

​Research

I have an extensive background in performing market research. This was an important part of my job at CBS Radio when I showed my clients how our radio audience matched their customers. I have also performed market research on a consultancy basis through Njorth Bio_ for several companies, both national and international. As a research assistant and as a Master student, market research was also a regular part of my ongoing activities.

Marketing &

​Communications

I have served as the Head of Communications for the BIOPROSP conference, where I was the main contact person for delegates, presenters, vendors, sponsors, and partners.  In addition, I have served as Head of Communications for the cluster innovation program Biotech North, where I handle all things involving the website, social media, and general outreach.
